Free Crochet Heart Amigurumi
If you have tried crocheting the mini heart pillow, then try out this heart amigurumi pattern! The techniques are totally different, involving crocheting in a round. It also turns out to be a nice crocheted 3D heart as well, perfect for making multiple little Valentine’s Day presents.

Introduction to Crocheting Heart Amigurumi
In this post, we will first be starting off with the relevant supplies and techniques you would need to crochet this small heart. Here to make this heart, we only be using 1 yarn colour. Then we will head into the pattern proper.
As this is a beginner friendly pattern, here you will learn how to crochet a heart shape without any special stitches, just increases and decreases in single crochet. You will be working in a continuous round as well as surface crocheting.

Supplies and Techniques for Crocheting a 3D Heart
Here I have listed the techniques as well as the materials needed to crochet a flat 2D heart. Terminology for Crocheting Heart Amigurumi
Ch = chain
St = stitch (refers to number of stitches in one round)
2sc1 = single crochet increase (meaning 2 single crochet in same stitch)
Sc2tog1 = single crochet decrease (referring to invisible decrease)

Surface sc = surface single crochet
holding working yarn behind piece, hook in front of piece, insert hook through piece, yo, pull yarn through piece, proceed to sc
Materials and Tools for Crocheting Heart Amigurumi
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Version 1 - Pink (25gm each)
Version 2 - Red (25gm each)
Darning needle
Scissors

Now that you have gathered your supplies and had a look at the basic terminology to reading the following pattern, let us first get started!
Yarn
Scheepjes Catona or any equivalent fingering or sport weight yarn
Crochet hook
2.5-3.0mm Clover crochet hook
Stuffing
Use leftover yarn or polyester fibrefill
Darning Needles
Safety Eyes
4mm glass eyes or safety eyes
Stitch Markers
Plastic stitch markers or metal stitch markers
Crochet Mini Heart Amigurumi
Only use pink yarn to make the whole heart.
Round 1: Magic ring sc3 - 3st
Round 2: 2sc3 - 6st
Round 3: (Sc1, 2sc1) x 3 - 9st
Round 4: (Sc2, 2sc1) x 3 - 12st
Round 5: (Sc3, 2sc1) x 3 - 15st
Round 6: (Sc4, 2sc1) x 3 - 18st
Round 7: (Sc5, 2sc1) x 3 - 21st
Round 8: (Sc6, 2sc1) x 3 - 24st
Round 9: Skip 12st, sc1, place stitch marker here, sc11 - 12st
Round 10: (Sc2, sc2tog1) x 3 - 9st
Round 11: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 3 - 6st
Round 12: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 2 - 4st
Close up and end off.
Add stuffing to heart before working on the other side of heart.
Work into Round 8, surface crochet in the middle with slip knot first with opposite sides together and work in clockwise direction, place stitch marker at beginning of round,
Round 9: 2sc1, sc11 - 12st
Round 10: (Sc2, sc2tog1) x 3 - 9st
Round 11: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 3 - 6st
Add more stuffing before sealing up the rest of heart.
Round 12: (Sc1, sc2tog1) x 2 - 4st
Close up and end off in FLO.
Sew up any gaps in the middle.
